IS there a membership fee?

Not At this time. we want to encourage a true sense of community during our current times. we like showcasing the work of amazing talent in an equitable way. As the demand grows, this model will shift to support a scaling operation. We are also eager to host in-person events.

What happens if I’m not initially accepted?

first and foremost, please do not feel discouraged. while we are unable to provide specifics for every submission, we do want to eliminate any confusion. we provide a comprehensive list, post submission that may help with this.

Do I have to be a Black EVENT Professional to be included?

Yes. we are creating a space for the black professional. our goal is to allow the equally talented black pro to thrive. we would love to say the playing field has been 100% equal, it just has not been the case, so this is our way of contributing to the shift that is beginning.

what ARE THE benefits OF BEING A MEMBER?

we would love our members to not only support, but connect with one another. encouragement, advice and collaboration are just a few examples of this. being listed as a member will also provide another avenue of exposure. we hope that clients and partners alike will be drawn to your brand through this platform.

our future goals include offering a mentorship program, hosting educational and social virtual meetups, as well as curating in-person networking events.

What types of events should i include in my photo submission?

We are looking for weddings, social or branded events. shoots are accepted, but we’d like these to be a fraction of your gallery submission. the more beautiful and sophisticated the better. We prefer to stay away from clutter, outdated work, poor quality or dark photography, unsettling color palettes, and fonts

How can non-wedding/event partners and brands support EWC?

this can happen a number of ways. each ally relationship may be different from the next.

as a leading publication or blog, we look for an ongoing partnership. we encourage you to constantly spread the word of diversity through published articles, showcasing black talent and sharing images that promote the diverse make-up of our world. in some cases, forming a diverse panel of experts at your next conference or summit.

as an industry partner who provides goods or services, highlight, cross-promote and collaborate with Black talent.

national and regional event organizations, having a D&I team to encourage equal and fair representation within your membership body is vital. The board should be reflective of this as well.
